I attend an extremely liberal university and it bugs the sh!t out of me. By default, everyone here is a freedom-hating leftist(even the “right” here hates freedom) unless otherwise specified. The university “sponsored” events are always horseshit. This week is gay/bi/trans/pre/post/martian week and last week was “Human Rights” week. Funny, none of those rights were the right to keep the product of your labor or the right to be free from coercion or force. Even people that act like “they follow politics” support Obama. Oh cool, you support a tyrannical person that signed the NDAA and authorized the assassination of American citizens.
The worst part of the left is that they act like they support individual rights. “Get the government out of the bedroom and my uterus!”. Ok, but you want the government to take over medicine, education, and environmental protection? Go kill yourself.
Even the “College Republicans” here are statist sheep. I attended a couple of their meetings and was bombarded with arguments about “how the free market wouldn’t treat you that well”. Most of them major in useless shit like political science, no wonder they love the state, their area of study revolves around controlling others and being a parasite. Almost all of them aspire to go into some state-sponsored part of the economy. They’re worse than the left.

Even when you exit the realm of politics nearly everyone here is fucking ignorant about anything that’s not broadcasted by the MSM or contained within the bubble of music/television/movies. The majority of kids here are basically quantitatively disabled and lack the ability to think critically. Every time someone says “Liberal arts/humanities degrees advance critical thinking”, I feel like leaving the planet. Any math class beyond basic calculus/linear algebra/multivariate calculus requires huge amounts of abstraction and critical thinking.
